Fri-Sun 7/1-7/3 Lighthouse Bluegrass Festival
Workshops - Sunday Morning Gospel - Slowpitch Jam - Food Concessions & Craft Vendors - Kids Corner - Festival Souvenir Table. This is a family event with lots for the kids to do. In addition we will be celebrating Canada Day, with a display of fire works for you on Friday Night. Included in the festival are several workshops on various aspects of playing bluegrass music, so there will be something for everyone. Location: Lighthouse Festival Grounds, 240 Lions Way, Qualicum.

The Victoria International Busker Festival will present many of the world's top street performers on event stages located across downtown. The festival will feature acts from Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the US, Europe, and Canada. This is a free to attend event, suitable for all ages!

The Chemainus Bluegrass extravaganza & festival will be a wonderful musical event. We are working on a line-up of great performers for you, whom you'll be able to enjoy in the magical surroundings of Waterwheel Park - right in the centre of beautiful Chemainus.
Sat-Sun 7/16-7/17 Milner Gardens Art & Photography in the Garden
10:00 am to 5:00 pm (last entry at 4:30 pm). Meet, mingle and be inspired by local artists at work, painting, sketching, carving and photographing the beauty of this Artist's Garden. Bonsai artists, potters, and live music. Artwork silent auction in support of the Gardens. Hand stamp allows re-entry Sunday. Tea Room opens early from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm for homemade soups and scones.

Little Qualicum Cheeseworks on Morningstar Farm will serenade you with fine musicians at their Jazz, Tea & Cheesecake event. Sample the different cheeses, taste the various wines, tour the farm, watch the Cheesemakers in action, and visit all the animals. Mon 8/1 Comox Nautical Days

On Saturday August 6th a Show and Shine will take place from 2:00 pm till 5:00 pm with registration taking place from noon until 2:00 pm. On Sunday August 7th the Fistful of Dollars Poker Run will entail a scenic ride through the Comox Valley including a stop on our beautiful Mt Washington. There will be a terrific buffet provided by Mt. Washington Ski Hill, and a ride up the ski lift for the driver OR the passenger to get the third card.... There will also be food booths, children's areas and bike games to follow with prizes. Raffles will be held both days with proceeds donated to Tour De Rock.

Mon-Fri 8/15-8/19 Canadian National Master Hunting Retriever Test
Held at the Swallowfield Farm near Crofton. This National event will attract dog training enthusiast from Canada and Pacific Northwest vying for the title of National Master Champion, the highest achievement in hunting retriever testing. Labrador, Golden, Flat Coated, Chesapeake and Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers will be tested on land, in water and on blind (unmarked) retrieves. Dogs are evaluated by a panel of three judges. Tests are designed to assess a dog's ability to hunt, retrieve and work as a team with their handlers. Location: Swallowfield Rd, Crofton.
