Ruby's Ridge Campground

Yesss… I've managed to stay very busy traveling & snooping around a few more nooks and crannies on Vancouver Island and beyond. This past month I didn't have to go far to discover enchanting serene surroundings.
Madge and I discovered Ruby's Ridge Campground located on 3 acres of park-like forest in the "Warm Land" of The Cowichan Valley. Being only a short 35 minutes North of Victoria, it's easy to get there.
Take the Trans Canada Hwy past Mill Bay. Keep heading North toward Cobble Hill, when you reach the set of traffic lights at Hutchinson Rd. turn right and take the U–turn off of Hutchinson Rd., so that you are back at the lights, turn left, back onto the Trans Canada Hwy and head south again for a block or so and turn right onto Chapman Rd. You'll see Arbutus RV and Ruby's Ridge is adjacent to it.
Nestled in the woods you will discover 34 RV/ Tent sites in total with partial hook-up (water, hydro, and sewer) in a park-like setting that can accommodate up to 45' units. There are picnic tables at each site. The Restroom facilities have showers and Laundry facilities are also available.
There are lovely beaches nearby at Mill Bay & Cherry Point which offers a beautiful Oceanside beach walk at Satellite Park. Shawnigan Lake is a short 10 minute drive and
if you would like to head out for some Golf , there's Arbutus Ridge and Cowichan Golf Course all minutes away. As you can guess, Madge and I wouldn't miss any opportunity to get out on the links and chase that little white ball around, Yessss… Cupcakes Roada even took a few lessons, Madge said it was a marked improvement, as I wasn't spending as much time in the trees and I must say… we did enjoy that!
In addition we took in a tour of Cherry Point Vineyards which they offer on weekends at 1:oo pm. The Owners, Wayne and Helena took us on a free guided tour that takes aprox 30-40 minutes. We learned about the Summer Concert series on Sunday and enjoyed the beautiful works of Mozart, Telemann and Brahms while having our picnic lunch and of course some Cherry Point Wine. There are more concerts scheduled for the summer July 27 th and August 24 th .Ticket price is $20.00 and you can call them 743-1272 for more info.
The daily RV rates are most affordable at $16-$20 per site for serviced sites and $14 for the tent sites. They also have very reasonable rates available for long term in both low and high season, so do give them a call @ 743-4711 to find out availability and the details. The Delightful & Enchanting Ruby's Ridge Campground definitely qualifies for the "Roada" Stamp of Approval.
